Recruitment of Skilled Staff
It's easy for any employer in Beijing to find qualified professionals, as the city is the country's most developed region in terms of education, science and technology. The city is also an increasingly strong magnet for overseas professionals and talent who find it a great place to work and start businesses.
Beijing, a university superpower in China, currently boasts 89 universities and colleges, including the most prestigious institutions in the country, such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China and Beijing Normal University. The two talent powerhouses, Peking University and Tsinghua University, were included into the top 50 list of the 2012 World University Rankings by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS). There are 130 institutions cultivating post-graduate students, many of whom stay in Beijing upon graduation. By the end of 2011, Beijing had a total of 280 scientific research institutes at various levels, including top-tier research centers such as the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE). In 2011, there were 297,000 personnel engaged in S&T activities, a 10 percent increase over the previous year. Beijing is also the nation's top destination for overseas returnees seeking jobs and entrepreneur opportunities. So far, the city has drawn over 100,000 overseas returnees, accounting for about 10 percent of the national total. |
